Three years ago, due to Jin Mu's scheme, Naksu (Mu-deok) became a soul-shifter, killed many people, and eventually killed Jang Uk by her own hand. In despair, Naksu threw herself into Lake Gyeongcheondaeho, while Jang Uk was resurrected by the power of the Ice Stone within his body.
Three years have passed since then.
Jang Uk is no longer a bright young man, but lives as a mage who hunts soul-shifters. People call him a hero, but he refuses to open his heart to anyone due to the guilt and scars of losing Naksu.
Meanwhile, in Jinyowon, a woman named Jin Bu-yeon lives in confinement. She lives without knowing her true identity due to memory loss, but in fact, Naksu's soul remains in that body. Jang Uk happens to meet her and begins to feel an inexplicable attraction.
