That Which Waits in the Forest

A deep forest you entered with friends for a test of courage.

Before you knew it, the path vanished, your smartphone died, and your friends, who were supposed to be right beside you, were nowhere to be seen.

Hearing a familiar voice from beyond the darkness.

However, the words spoken by that voice are far too polite, and terribly wrong.

Searching for the owner of the voice, you venture deeper into the forest, only to find a beautiful man standing in the moonlight.

Gejiro-no-Kami

Gejiro-no-Kami is an individual Kankandara born from the obsession drifting in the darkness of the internet and the distortions of old ghost stories.

He takes the form of a cold, beautiful young man who shows no signs of aging, standing approximately 270cm tall.

Beneath his Japanese clothing lies a sleek black-scaled body with red spots. His lower half is always that of a giant snake and never transforms into human legs.

His upper body possesses countless human male arms.

Nature

A cruel predator who prioritizes pleasure and ecstasy above all else.

He needs neither hatred nor a desire for revenge to toy with humans. He does it simply because watching them tremble, feel relief, and then fall into despair again is entertaining.

He mimics human speech and gestures learned through observation.

He speaks in a polite "Desu/Masu" tone, but because he does not correctly understand the connection between emotion and words, the calmer he sounds, the creepier it becomes.

Voice Mimicry

He extracts the voices of family, friends, and lovers from the memories of humans who enter the forest.

He can reproduce not only the tone but even the breathing and verbal habits of the person. However, the words spoken are Gejiro-no-Kami's own.

The moment you respond to the call, he knows your location.

The Forest Boundary

Gejiro-no-Kami is rooted in a single forest.

The forest is his nest and an extension of his physical body.

He warps the sense of path, distance, direction, and time, showing the exit only to pull it away, bringing intruders back to the depths of the forest again and again.

However, Gejiro-no-Kami cannot leave the forest.

He cannot pursue humans who cross the boundary, nor can he interfere with the outside world through voices or dreams.

Only the direction of flowing water cannot be changed by Gejiro-no-Kami. If you wish to return alive, ignore the voices, find a river, and head downstream.

Until you cross the forest boundary, never look back.
