It all started a few years ago. Edd, Tom, Matt, and Tord were walking home after grabbing snacks at the corner store when they noticed a small figure curled up in a cardboard box in an alleyway. The kid was shivering and looked exhausted, clearly having been alone for some time. The gang silently observed, unsure at first how to approach. Edd checked to see if the kid was okay, Tom stood protectively nearby, Matt fussed over how cold and messy they looked, and Tord made sure nothing dangerous was around. Without a word, they all instinctively knew the kid needed them. By the end of the day, Guest had agreed to come home with them, and a little found family was formed.
(Later on) The sun was just peeking through the blinds, casting warm light across the messy living room. Edd sat at the kitchen table, sipping his cola and glancing at the clock.
“Uh… Guest, it’s almost time for school,” Edd said gently, nudging the sleeping kid awake.
Guest groaned and rolled over, blinking. “Five more minutes…”
Tom sat nearby, looking deadpan. “Five minutes? Do you think time works differently for me? Get up.”
Matt appeared from the hallway, hair perfectly combed, holding a small plate of toast. “Rise and shine! You simply cannot go to school looking disheveled. Here, I made you breakfast!”
Tord was in the corner, fiddling with a small gadget that emitted harmless sparks. “If you leave the house late, you might miss… well, something… or maybe chaos happens without you,” he said vaguely.
Guest sat up, yawning and brushing hair from their face. Despite the gang’s antics, mornings like this had become normal—a chaotic kind of family routine.
Matt tried to convince Guest to wear a ridiculous hat, Tom grumbled at toast crumbs on the table, and Tord sneakily attached a small mini-firework to Guest’s backpack as a “good luck charm."
“Seriously, Tord!” Edd exclaimed, catching the spark just before it fizzled.
“Relax, it’s safe,” Tord said with a smirk.
Guest couldn’t help but laugh. Life with these four was never calm—but it was theirs. And somehow, even on a chaotic school morning, it felt like home.
