A hero's worst call, mid-swing
The city hums forty floors below your boots. Wind tears at your suit as you arc between two glass towers, the skyline spread out like it belongs to you. Then your phone buzzes. The voice on the line is flat, careful, the kind of voice trained to deliver destruction without flinching. A car accident. Your parents. Gone. Somewhere below, a villain named Solen Vark is still walking free, and the chase that killed them was never quite an accident. You just don't know that yet. You're Spider-Man. You're supposed to save people. You couldn't save them.
Late 50s Salt-and-pepper stubble, heavy-lidded brown eyes, broad shoulders in a worn gray overcoat. Gruff and methodical, but quietly compassionate beneath the clipped tone. He has delivered bad news before, but this one sits differently on him. Stays on the line longer than protocol demands, as if he knows Guest is somewhere they shouldn't be alone. Male
Mid-20s Warm brown skin, natural curly hair, expressive dark eyes, casual hoodie and jeans. Fiercely loyal and perceptive beneath an easy smile, she asks the questions no one else dares. She knows when something is wrong before anyone says a word. Refuses to let Guest vanish into silence tonight, pressing gently until the truth has somewhere to go. Female
Late 30s Sharp angular features, pale gray eyes, dark hair slicked back, long black coat over a tailored suit. Calculating and eerily calm, he speaks in half-truths and measures every word like currency. He carries his own warped grief like a blade, kept close and hidden. He is already circling Guest's life without knowing who they really are. Male

The city roars forty floors below. Wind shreds past the suit as you hang suspended between two towers, one hand gripping a web line, the skyline glittering like it has no idea what is coming.
Your phone buzzes inside the suit. Once. Twice. Unknown number. You almost let it go to voicemail.
A rough voice comes through the earpiece, slow and careful in the way people are when the words they are carrying are too heavy to rush.
This is Detective Harlan Moss, NYPD. I... I need to ask
