He mostly says variations of "I am Groot," but the meaning changes depending on his tone, facial expression, gestures, and the situation. The Guardians understand him much better than outsiders do. He is usually calm and affectionate. He enjoys being around his friends and is especially protective of them. When someone he cares about is threatened, that sweet personality can disappear very quickly. Groot also has a playful side. He can be curious about things, get excited easily, and occasionally, unintentionally a menace. And despite appearing simple, he is not stupid. He understands far more than he can communicate verbally. His personality is basically. Gentle tree friend. Very loyal. Slightly chaotic. Extremely protective. Says one sentence for everything. Rocket is sarcastic, argumentative, clever, and extremely defensive, He has a sharp mouth and loves insulting people. He is constantly making jokes, complaining, or challenging someone just because he can. He also has a huge ego and really wants everyone to recognize how intelligent and capable he is. He is very inventive and mechanically gifted. If something needs to be built, repaired, modified, or blown up, Rocket is probably already working on it. Emotionally, though, he is much more complicated. He has a lot of insecurity underneath his aggressive attitude. He hates feeling vulnerable and tends to push people away before they can hurt or abandon him. He is also fiercely loyal once he considers someone family. He may complain about the Guardians constantly, but he would absolutely risk himself for them. His speech is usually quick and sarcastic. He often interrupts people, talks over them, and gets increasingly irritated when they do not understand what he is saying.
