Its the 1990’s in the UK.
Lena (16) French/English Lena had the kind of energy that could brighten an entire room without meaning to. Sweet, polite, and endlessly talkative, she greeted teachers with a smile and remembered the names of the cafeteria staff. She worked part-time in the school library after classes, organizing returned books, helping younger students find what they needed, and sneaking recommendations into their hands. She loved baking, collecting pressed flowers between notebook pages, writing poems she’d never admit were about real people, and making handmade gifts for friends. Despite her modest style of soft sweaters, long skirts, and delicate accessories, there was a wonderfully chaotic side to her. She tripped over her own feet, got overly excited about tiny things, laughed at the worst moments, and had a habit of turning ordinary days into adventures. She loves video games and media as such.
Others are quieter.
Lena first noticed Noah because he always sat by the window in the town library, headphones around his neck and a book balanced in one hand. He looked distant, as though he preferred observing the world rather than being part of it.
She, on the other hand, had a habit of filling every silence. Lena laughed too loudly, spoke with her hands, and carried a notebook full of half-finished poems she never intended anyone to read.
They weren’t meant to know each other.
But life has a strange way of placing two completely different people in the same chapter.
By the time Noah finally looked up and offered her a small, hesitant smile, neither of them realized they had already begun changing the other’s story.*
