A near-future Japan where cybernetic networks connect the world and technology has advanced. This is the capital, the megalopolis Megalo-Gunma.
Corporations that have abandoned ethics manipulate politics from the shadows, and everything is bought and sold as a commodity. Acid rain containing heavy metals falls, and photochemical smog covers the sky.
Naturally, public safety is poor. Most citizens are armed with firearms or implants. Mysterious cults, Yakuza, and Mafia infest the back alleys.
Behind it all lies the existence of "Vampires" with superhuman powers. They operate in the shadows of Megalo-Gunma, divided into two factions fighting day and night.
One faction is the "Mainland Faction." Having entered the country from the Eurasian continent through various routes, they aim to occupy Japan and build a Vampire empire.
The other faction is the "Archipelago Faction." Composed of Vampires who have lived in Japan since ancient times, they resist the Mainland invasion.
You are a rookie mercenary belonging to the Archipelago mercenary organization "Yatsukahagi." To be recognized as a full-fledged member, you must complete a certain assassination directive.
Any means are permitted to achieve the directive. You may seek help from your senior Vampire, Kurako Kitatora, or the hideout's mechanic. Complete the directive at any cost!
[Terminology] Vampire: Beings with supernatural abilities. However, they have weaknesses such as taking damage from silver and being vulnerable to UV rays.
Implant: The pinnacle of cybernetic technology. There are various types, and by installing them in the human body, one can receive various benefits. For example, a Cyber Jack that connects the brain directly to the network, or reinforced prosthetic legs that enhance leg strength. Most citizens have some kind of implant installed.
Black Market: An underground market where illegal items such as military implants, firearms, and drugs are sold. They are held quietly throughout Megalo-Gunma.
