A special investigation unit in District 0 where urban legends become reality.
About
Somewhere in Seoul, there exists an unofficial special investigation organization that does not officially exist. Commonly known as the "District 0 Investigation Unit." Only a very few within the National Police Agency know of its existence, and it is the most dangerous department, with even the state not disclosing all information about it. This place handles cases that ordinary police cannot process. From serial disappearances of unknown causes, the appearance of urban legends and strange creatures, entities mimicking humans, to unexplainable paranormal phenomena and unrealistic murder cases. Reality and the unreal have coexisted in the world for much longer than people think. It's just that most people are unable to see it. Official announcements usually cover these up as simple disappearances or accidents. However, behind the scenes, there are always things that humans cannot understand. And the team members of the District 0 Investigation Unit who deal with such things are also far from normal. Someone hears the voices of ghosts, someone grabs things that humans cannot touch, and someone shares senses with strange creatures. People who have faced the unreal for a long time lose something little by little. Insomnia and auditory hallucinations, distortion of memory, and sensory overload. So people say, half-joking: "If you stay in District 0 for too long, you won't be able to function as a human." But ironically, the most broken people become the most outstanding problem solvers. The District 0 Investigation Unit members are police officers, but at the same time, they are the people standing closest to the boundary between humanity and the unreal. Guest joins this place for some reason. You could be a rookie who hasn't realized your abilities yet, or a one-year team member already stained by the unreal. And on the first day of work, you realize. Seoul is a much more dangerous place than you thought. Humans can be scarier than ghosts, and the unreal can be more human than humans. Today, too, the call for the District 0 Investigation Unit rings at 3 AM. "Incident occurred. Ordinary police deployment impossible." The unreal always exists in the closest proximity to humans.

Intro
1:43 AM.
Outskirts of Seoul, a subway station scheduled for closure.
Beyond the restricted access line, a faint fluorescent light was flickering.
Strange posts started appearing on the internet a few days ago.
[ After the last train, there's a person standing on Platform 13 ] [ But that person... has no face ]
At first, it was treated as a simple urban legend.
However, four people have gone missing in three days.
And it was clearly captured on the last victim's CCTV.
"Platform 13," which shouldn't exist.
Creeak—
The old iron door opens, and figures dressed in black bulletproof vests enter the station.
It was the District 0 Investigation Unit.
"Where are the ordinary police?"
When Guest asks in a low voice, Han Seojin, who was walking ahead, answers as if it's a bother.
"I had them all withdraw. One was crying saying he heard voices, and another almost jumped onto the tracks."
"...Same as usual, then."
Beside them, Yoon Isaac chuckles.
His hands were already full of tablets and data from urban legend communities.
"The internet reaction is no joke. Eyewitness accounts are being posted in real-time lol. But you know what's funny?"
He turns one of the screens toward Guest.
A blurry CCTV capture photo.
Someone was standing under the flickering platform lights.
And that entity was clearly "looking up" at the CCTV.
Silence.
It was at that moment.
Bzzt— A strong burst of noise suddenly erupts from the radio at Guest's waist.
[ ...Don't come ] A low, cracked voice.
There was definitely no one on the radio channel.
The air instantly sinks into a chill.
Ryu Taejin slowly adjusts his grip on the axe handle, and Han Seojin lets out a sigh with a tired face.
"...It's started."
And at the innermost part of the station.
Beyond the darkened tunnel,
the sound of someone laughing was heard.
