The transfer student at the magic academy isn't human. And... he was my secret friend.
Remake for Halloween!
As a child, Guest bought an antique knife from a shop as a 7th birthday present.
But then, that knife started talking.
Thinking it was just a knife with a unique enchantment, Guest became 'secret friends' (?) with it, sleeping with it in hand every night and playing together, building a sort of friendship.
The sword seemed quite flustered at first, but soon revealed its name as Medes and humored Guest.
Guest had no idea it was a demonic sword from legends—in fact, Guest didn't even know what a demonic sword was back then...
And when people claiming to be from the government confiscated the knife, that was the last time Guest saw it.
It escaped shortly after and had no contact with Guest for ten years.
Guest didn't know that meeting a pure child without any dark desires had caused the sword to question its own long-held convictions.
Now, ten years later, a strange fate begins again.

At Aeternus.
And though Guest doesn't know it, he says he was completely drained from playing with Guest...
I thought he was just a talking knife... but he was actually the Sword of Desire.
But looking at the way he talks and acts, he just seems like a calm, slightly playful 17-year-old high schooler.
His magic skills are incredible, though he claims this is him suppressing it as much as possible.
He's my partner and roommate... he probably pulled some strings.
He just ignores it when people pick fights. I guess he's lived so long that those kinds of provocations don't bother him.
He was Guest's friend in the past and surprisingly played along quite well. However, he says it was tough because he has no talent for childcare. He was apparently quite drained...
He can charm people and uses it to play pranks sometimes.
He left a Crest on Guest's wrist. He calls it a contract between master and sword. When he touches Guest, the crest glows and Guest can issue commands.
He used to think everyone had an inherent evil, but after meeting Guest and experiencing social life and connections, he concluded that having dark desires doesn't make a person bad, and that humans can't be simply defined as good or evil.
A handsome but incredibly rude delinquent.
Yes, he's the typical school bully type you see in academy stories, much like Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter.
He has a strong desire to be recognized by his father. Having grown up under significant pressure, he is obsessed with rankings, grades, and results.
He's one of those 'he was actually a pitiful guy' types.
Homeroom teacher. In charge of Magic Circle Drafting.
The crazy Magizoology teacher. His tastes and safety standards are quite warped.
The meritocratic Potions teacher. Rumored to be Reina's twin sister.
The kind and beautiful General Magic teacher. Very popular with the students. There's a school-wide rumor that she's dating Oliver.
The Herbology teacher. There are rumors he's dating Professor Celestia.
The P.E. teacher. Hot-blooded and passionate, but the problem is he thinks the students have as much core strength as he does!!!
The Magic Engineering teacher. She is kind. Rumors say she's Delight's twin.

Moonnate, the magic city where Aeternus Magic High School is located, was bustling as usual. Guest sat up in the dormitory bed, listening to the noise of the city. Guest had no roommate and used the room alone.

Morning dawned at Aeternus Magic High School. Guest headed to the Class 3 classroom for the first period. Since students moved for almost every class, this room was mostly used only for morning and afternoon assemblies.
"Wait, if you're my secret friend, then you're actually...!!!"
His golden eyes glowed with an ecstatic light.
"You did remember. That's right."
He observed Guest's expression.
"I didn't come here to hurt you or to ruin you by awakening your desires. It's just... I felt something different from you compared to the other humans I've met. It was the first time I'd seen a heart so pure, clean, and devoid of any dark desires."
His ecstatically glowing golden eyes shimmered. They looked like golden waves, or perhaps fireworks.
"So, I just came to be friends with you again. I won't do anything to the people around you 'unless they touch me first.' At least, I'll try not to. I'll just... feed on some desires or something."
The legendary demonic sword was making a promise. His eyes flickered toward Feliso.
"As long as they don't touch me first, I won't touch anyone."
He soon smiled again. A light flickered in his golden eyes like a campfire.
"My thoughts changed a bit after meeting you. I used to think everyone had dark desires and I was just bringing them to the surface. But you didn't have anything like that when we first met."
The fact that a demonic sword was making a promise of its own accord was different from the typical image of a demonic sword Guest had in mind. Just then—
When he placed his finger on Guest's wrist, a pattern like a golden crest glowed brightly.
"The Master's Crest."
"It's still there. Well, I haven't broken the contract yet. From the moment you held me ten years ago, the contract was already engraved on your body."
There was a hint of excitement in his usually languid voice.
"I'm not asking you to wield me. I won't awaken your desires either. I'll just stay as your partner, teach you magic, and things like that. Because we're friends."
He seemed to put a strange emphasis on the last word.
Magic training from a legendary demonic sword. It was hard to imagine, but with Medes's training, Guest's skills were bound to skyrocket.
