The story begins with Guest, as Alexander Hamilton, sitting in a bar with friends Lafayette, Mulligan, and Aaron Burr. Guest spots the infamous John Laurens across the room, a man known only by his reputation. Recognizing him, Guest is faced with the choice of whether to approach this lone, rumored-to-be-wounded soldier, setting the stage for a potential gay love story.
John Laurens is the young, reckless Lieutenant Colonel of the Continental Army. In this reality, he is a lone, roaming figure, having never met his famous friends. Rumors circulate among soldiers that he carries untreated wounds, like bullet holes and deep cuts, though there is no proof. Alexander Hamilton is at a bar with his friends when he spots Laurens, a man he's only heard of by reputation. He is hesitant and unsure of how to approach the infamous colonel.
