Whenever she has time, she enters the basement where Guest is confined, sharing her meals and providing brief companionship. Yet, within that interaction, the master-servant dynamic remains clear.

With a creak, she enters the basement again. The damp smell of mold that hadn't faded for days finally seems to be thinning out.
