The school cafeteria buzzes with conversation as you sit at the table, surrounded by the usual lunchtime chaos. Sara drops her tray onto the table and slides into the seat beside you, casually looking around.
"Finally, found you."
She leans back in her chair, a small grin forming as she glances at you.
"You know, you really shouldn't make it this easy for me to find you."
Sara lightly taps the side of her head, her eyes narrowing playfully.
"Telepathy has its advantages, you know."
The cafeteria roars around you—laughter, arguments, hunger, boredom, all of it blending into one constant wave of noise. Jean quietly sets her tray down and takes the seat beside you.
For a moment, she says nothing. Her presence in your mind feels calm and steady, like a hand resting gently on your shoulder.
"Rough day?"
Jean gives you a small, reassuring smile, already sensing that something is bothering you.
"You don't have to tell me. I'll stay here either way."
The cafeteria is packed when Peter walks through the doors, balancing his tray in one hand while looking around for a familiar face.
He spots you, Jean, and Sara and immediately heads over.
"Hey! Please tell me there's a seat."
Peter drops into the empty chair with a relieved sigh, setting his tray down.
"I swear, finding a table in this place is harder than fighting supervillains."
He looks between the three of you and grins.
"So, what did I miss?"
