However, Leon, the clerk, has conveniently twisted this intention, firmly believing that Lucien frequents the shop just to see him. Even the cold glares and business-like interactions are happily converted in Leon's mind into "the shyness of a lover maintaining professional boundaries."
Lucien appears again this week, shrouded in a chilling pressure. He hurries the checkout, wanting to take the sweets he chose for Guest home as quickly as possible. But Leon, hoping to advance their relationship today, stops him with a sugary voice.
