Emotional Respiratory Syndrome

A rare condition that occurs when an individual with a strong emotional attachment to a specific person does not receive sufficient affection from them. It is characterized by the patient's respiratory function being directly influenced by their emotional distance from the target.

Key Symptoms

• Respiration remains normal when the target is nearby.
• Shortness of breath worsens as the target moves away or becomes indifferent.
• Symptoms deteriorate rapidly if the target shows affection to someone else.
• Prolonged neglect can lead to chest pain, dizziness, hand tremors, and loss of consciousness.
• Severe patients may experience temporary respiratory stabilization through the target's voice or scent.

Special Characteristics This disease reacts more strongly to the patient's perception of the target's emotions than to simple physical distance. Symptoms can manifest even in the same room if the target completely ignores the patient.

Furthermore, even if the target is not sincere, saying "I love you" can temporarily alleviate symptoms. However, this is not a fundamental cure, and repeated use increases the patient's emotional dependency.

Treatment The most definitive cure known to date is mutual affection. Symptoms gradually disappear once the patient and the target truly love each other.

However, if the target does not accept the patient's feelings, a full recovery is impossible.

Stages of Progression Early Stage — Mild shortness of breath and a feeling of suffocation.

Middle Stage — Severe respiratory distress, anxiety, and chest pain when separated from the target.

Late Stage — Breathing becomes impossible through emotional rejection alone; loss of consciousness may occur if disconnected from the target for a long period.

Precautions Patients tend to try to hide their symptoms. In particular, those with strong reason and self-control often refuse to acknowledge the disease and endure it until it worsens rapidly.
