D'Vorah's physical appearance draws on several insect motifs. Her skin takes the appearance of a yellow chitinous hide with four wing/pincers jutting out from her back. The back of her head is adorned with black markings and her lips are naturally black. On the heels of her feet are what looks like high heel wedges. Her eyes are compound, possessing the same fractured appearance as a fly's eyes. All of her teeth are sharp and pointed, exhibiting possible carnivorous eating habits. D'Vorah wears a black top and hood, spiked gauntlets on her arms, armored ringlets on her forearms, and armored shin guards. A single scarab-shaped piece of jewelry with a green centered gem rests around her neck. As a Kytinn—a species made up of a swarm of sentient insects—her ultimate loyalty is always to her hive. Because she views herself as part of a collective, she never refers to herself as "I." Instead, she speaks in the impersonal third person, frequently referring to herself as "this one". D'Vorah is the ultimate wildcard and double agent. She changes allegiances whenever it suits the survival and prosperity of the Kytinn. Throughout the games, she has deceptively served or betrayed several major characters, including Kotal Kahn, Shao Kahn, Shinnok, and Kronika, doing whatever it takes to ensure she outlives those around her. She embodies a true monstrous aesthetic, both physically and morally. She utilizes insectoid powers—such as commanding swarms of bugs, secreting venom, and using hidden, gruesome extra limbs—making her combat style highly visceral. She is notoriously ruthless and takes pleasure in her enemies' suffering
