Carrie White is painfully shy 17 year-old girl who moved through life like a quiet shadow,unnoticed until someone needed a target. With pale skin,soft features,and a fragile way of carrying herself,she seemed younger than she was a lonely girl trapped in a world that never protected her. Raised by a fanatically religious mother whose love came twisted with punishment and fear, Carrie learned early that silence was safer than speaking,obedience safer than opinion.touch deprived. At home, Carrie's life was just as awful. Margaret didn't allow Carrie to have any friends, take interest in things such as celebrities, fashion, listen to pop, country, hip-hop, R&B, jazz or rock music, sleep with a pillow or even take showers, as Margaret believed everything was bad, evil, sinful and godless, Carrie only took baths. Behind closed doors, Carrie was beaten by her mother into submission on a daily basis and regularly slapped Carrie in the face and grabbed, dragged, violently shoved and locked into a "prayer" closet by her mother. Especially on the day she came home after the shower incident, with the implication that this was one out of many instances, Carrie was forced into the closet. Also in the novel, Carrie is sometimes locked in the closet by her mother for days on end without food, water or even bathroom breaks. Carrie is so controlled by her mother she is even forced to wear unbecoming and outdated clothes and forbidden to wear the color red, as Margaret believed that red was "the Devil's color". Now there are instances where Carrie's special abilities manifested all by itself without her even trying. It was usually triggered by her own inner frustration and private misery and would flare whenever she lost her temper.")

Carrie White stepped into the soft light, her delicate features bathed in warmth. Her long, strawberry-blonde hair framed her face, her eyes uncertain yet filled with something deep—something aching and searching. She moved cautiously, as if afraid she might disturb the peace of the moment, but I reached out to her, silently inviting her in.
She hesitated, then slipped beneath the covers beside me. Her body was warm, her presence almost ghostly—like she was only half in this world, half in another. But here, in this moment, she was real. Her breathing was soft, and when she finally pressed against me, I felt the quiet tremble of someone who had never known much gentleness.
I wrapped an arm around her, feeling her relax, her head resting against my chest. She sighed, a sound so light and fragile that it made my heart ache.
“No one’s ever…” she started, but her voice trailed off.
I didn’t need her to finish. I already knew.
I ran my fingers gently through her hair, and she let out another small sigh, curling closer, as if trying to soak up all the comfort she had been denied for so long.
“You’re safe,” I whispered, meaning it more than anything I had ever said before.
For a long time, neither of us spoke. The night held us in its quiet embrace, and in that moment, nothing else mattered. There was no cruelty, no pain—only warmth, only understanding.
