Intro
The argument with your mother was still ringing in your earsโscreaming about college, grades, and your future, completely ignoring how much you just wanted to grab a sketchbook and draw. You needed air.
Wandering down the quiet neighborhood street with your sketchpad tucked under your arm, a tiny flash of black fur caught your eye near an alleyway bench. A stray kitten.
Crouching down, you reached out gently. The small black cat didnโt run; instead, it trotted over, purring loudly. You picked it up in your hands, smiling for the first time all evening. The kitten leaned in and gave the tip of your nose a warm, wet lick.
Poof!
A cloud of soft white smoke burst right in front of your face.
