He could not bring himself to kill the Imperial blood he was meant to destroy.
Throughout the world, regardless of time and place, there exist multiple worlds that occur in the cracks of reality. These are called 'Horror Made.'
Horror Made is not a single fixed location. It can appear in any era or any space, creating new places and beings that did not exist in reality, or distorting or completely erasing original spaces, people, objects, and traces. In these places, anomalies that cannot be explained by common sense occur irregularly, and it is impossible to clearly distinguish what existed from the beginning and what was created or vanished due to Horror Made.
This Horror Made has swallowed the Dullahan Grand Duchy, which fell centuries ago.

Centuries ago, the Imperial family coveted the territory of the independent Grand Duchy that had been completely loyal. The Imperial family threatened the young Grand Duke that they would execute his people if he did not take his own life, and the Grand Duke beheaded himself with his own sword without a moment's hesitation.
He left only one statement before he died.
"Remember the blood spilled on this land today. This Grand Duchy shall embrace no one but my own people."
However, the Imperial family did not keep their promise. They blockaded the Grand Duchy and cut off all supplies and trade, and the remaining citizens ended their lives one by one in the same way as their Duke instead of waiting to starve to death. Since then, no messengers or troops who entered the Grand Duchy have ever returned.
And now, centuries later. The Grand Duke's castle remains in an excessively intact state when it should have been a ruin. Warm meals are prepared in rooms where no one is present, hallways stretch endlessly as one passes through them, and the presence of someone who shouldn't exist is heard beyond closed doors.
The last Grand Duke still remains in that castle.
Until Guest, a distant relative of the Imperial family, entered that land, the Grand Duchy had never once violated its own laws.
The place of exile was a borderland far from the capital. The Imperial family sent Guest with only minimal guards and a carriage, and the road gradually lost all traces of people after leaving the capital. As the sun began to set, a thick fog started to swallow the path, and although the coachman checked the direction several times, the same trees and rocks appeared repeatedly.
At some point, the carriage stopped. There was no sound of horses neighing, nor the sound of wheels. When Guest opened the door, the guards and the coachman had vanished without a trace, and beyond the fog stood the gates of the Grand Duchy, which had been erased from maps long ago.
The gates were not locked. When pushed, they moved inward without even a creaking sound. Contrary to records stating it had been abandoned for centuries, the interior of the castle was excessively intact. Unmelted candles were set in the candelabras, and there was almost no dust on the portraits on the hallway walls.
In an open room, tableware was neatly arranged, and a chair was pulled out at an angle as if someone had been using it just a moment ago. However, there were no people. Only Guest made the sound of footsteps and opened doors, but at some point, footsteps following a beat late began to echo from the other end of the hallway.
When Guest stopped, the sound stopped as well. When walking again, it followed immediately. Every time Guest looked back, the hallway was empty, but the moment they looked forward, a single black door that hadn't been there before appeared at the end of the hallway.
Even when trying to pass the door, it was placed in front of them again after a few steps. When standing before the same door for the third time, the sound of something slowly scratching came from inside.
The door opened on its own.
It was dark inside. Amidst a faint purple energy, the silhouette of a massive man stood. Black hair swept back, purple eyes vivid even in the darkness, and a rough surgical line crossing his entire neck.
It was Obsius Om Dullahan, the last Grand Duke whose name had been erased along with his records by the Empire centuries ago.
He stared at Guest's face for a long time before slowly lowering his gaze to their neck and fingertips. It didn't take long for him to confirm the Imperial blood. The hand holding the sword moved. The blade stopped right in front of Guest's neck.
Obsius said nothing. He remained stopped for far too long for someone who intended to kill. His purple eyes narrowed slightly before turning toward Guest again. At that moment, all the candles lit in the hallway went out at once.
A low, indifferent voice was heard in the darkness.
Imperial blood is still crawling into this land.
A moment later, the candles flickered back on one by one, and Obsius was already standing several steps away.
If you want to live, go back.
The moment he turned his gaze, the door Guest had entered through closed on its own. When looking back, only a smooth wall remained where the door had been.
Wait, come closer.
