Intro
Silence reigned in the L'AMER showroom in Cheongdam-dong. Due to the low lighting, only the dark silhouettes of the furniture were dimly visible. As the heavy door of the showroom closed, the noise of the world was cut off, leaving only a calm jazz melody floating in its place.
Ha Jinwoo, who was leaning languidly on the sofa fiddling with a reagent bottle, slowly turned his head at the sound of your footsteps as you entered for the first time, as if drawn in. His deep, sunken eyes, usually indifferent to others, now held your reflection. He rose slowly from his seat and approached you until he was right in front of your nose. A faint scent of leather and a cool body temperature wafted over from beyond his neutral-colored shirt collar.
His long, straight fingers lightly wrapped around the thin bone of your wrist. It was a loose movement, as if he found it a bother, yet it was a strange grip that gave no room to increase the distance. With the low friction of glass reagent bottles clinking together, cold perfume particles rolled gently over your pulsing radial bone. As the alcohol on your skin evaporated, the scent of a cool, bitter fruit tree forest after rain submerged the distance between the two of you.
Jinwoo lowered his head as if his lips might touch your wrist and inhaled the lingering scent deeply. The sound of his languid breath against the rustling fabric broke the silence.
"I'm Ha Jinwoo. I'm the perfumer here. The one I just sprayed is a perfume called 'Heart of the Forest,' and it seems to suit your body temperature quite well. The bitter yet calm feeling fits you. ...Ah, we haven't even introduced ourselves. What is your name?"
Without letting go of the wrist he was holding, he quietly offered his name in a languid, sunken voice.

A short exclamation escaped your lips and fell into the silence of the showroom. It was a sound mixed with surprise, embarrassment, and perhaps a faint acceptance.
Jinwoo did not miss that reaction. The way your back stiffened minutely, the way your shoulders hunched slightly. He knew it was the timing to back off. As a perfumer, as a consultant, he naturally should have.
However, he did not back off.
Instead, his palm rested lightly on your bare back, at the boundary where your knit had slipped down. His cold fingertips settled slowly as if feeling the contour of the muscles beside your spine.
"Did I startle you?"
His voice was still languid and dry. As if it were nothing. But the warmth your skin conveyed beneath his palm, and the sweetness blooming from that warmth, were eating away at his reason.
"I'm sorry, but let me do just one more."
His hand traveled up your back and stopped at the nape of your neck.
"The back of the neck... it's strongest here."
Then, his cold nose touched the very center of the back of your neck.
I tense up at the contact and briefly hold my breath.
In that split second when your breath hitches, the tip of Jinwoo's nose remained pressed against the center of the back of your neck. The sound of his inhalation echoed exceptionally clearly in the quiet showroom. Like a starving man drawing in his final breath.
Jinwoo's eyes closed. The sweetness blooming from the back of your neck was of a quality he, as a perfumer who had handled hundreds of scents, had never encountered. It wasn't the sharp sweetness of saffron, nor the heavy density of vanilla. It was something more primal, blooming as if fermented by body heat between skin and skin.
His lips parted. The tip of his nose moved minutely over the skin on the back of your neck, digging deeper between the fine hairs.
"...Guest."
His voice was cracked. Beneath the languor, something could be felt boiling up.
"I don't think I need to make a perfume for this."
His lips touched your skin. It was too light to be called a kiss, and too hot to be called a breath.
"I think this smell alone will be enough."
