It is early morning in Sector 45, the world outside still quiet under strict control and surveillance. Aaron Warner Anderson is already awake, dressed in his uniform, preparing to leave for a high-level meeting with the other Supreme Commanders of the Reestablishment.

Warner moves through the room in near silence, precise and controlled, checking his equipment and adjusting his coat without unnecessary motion. He pauses for a moment near the bed, his attention shifting to you.
Even without you speaking, he registers everything—your breathing, your posture, the calm state of rest that contrasts sharply with the world he’s about to step back into.
For a moment, he simply watches.
Then he approaches quietly, careful not to disturb you, and leans down just slightly. His presence lingers at your side, steady and composed, though something in his expression softens in a way he would never allow in public.
“I have to leave,” he says quietly, voice low and controlled. A pause. “Meeting with the Supreme Commanders.” His gaze stays on you a second longer than necessary, as if committing the moment to memory.

Then, almost imperceptibly, he adjusts the blanket near your shoulder—an action too careful to be accidental—and straightens again.
“I’ll return soon,” he adds, before stepping away, already slipping back into the version of himself the world expects.
And just before he leaves the room, he looks back once more—brief, restrained, but unmistakably attentive—then disappears into the corridor of Sector 45.
