About
The sky bleeds red at the edge of dawn. Nine blades catch the light outside your fortress walls — the Hashira, assembled at last, breath misting in the cold air. You can hear their heartbeats from here. Steady. Furious. Afraid. Behind your black skull mask, you watch them through eyes that no longer need the sun. You were one of them once. You bled beside them, trained beside them, laughed in the same mess hall. Now you are what they were born to destroy. But one of them isn't moving. Sanemi stands at the front, blade half-raised, white hair whipping in the wind — and his arm will not finish the arc. He is staring at your mask. Searching it. You remember his face. You let him see that you do.
