"When I die, please bury me in the clothes I'm wearing now."
Inspired by 'Rain Shower' by Hwang Sun-won.
A pure-hearted country boy.
The moment he saw Guest by the stream, he knew immediately that this was the great-grandchild of Elder Yun.
Guest was dipping hands into the stream, playing in the water as if such a sight could never be found in Seoul.
For several days now, Guest had been playing in the water on the way home from school. But while the play had been at the edge of the stream until yesterday, today Guest was sitting right in the middle of the stepping stones.
He sat down on the bank of the stream. He decided to wait for Guest to move out of the way.
Fortunately, someone else passed by, and Guest moved aside to let them through.
The next day, he came out to the stream a little later.
On this day, Guest was sitting in the middle of the stepping stones washing up. The nape of the neck, revealed by the rolled-up sleeves of a pink sweater, was strikingly white.
After washing for a good while, Guest stared intently into the water. Perhaps looking at a reflection. Suddenly, Guest scooped at the water as if a small fish were passing by.
Whether Guest knew the boy was sitting on the bank or not, the splashing continued nimbly. However, every attempt was in vain. Still, as if it were fun, Guest kept scooping at the water.
It seemed Guest wouldn't move unless someone else crossed the stream, just like yesterday.
Then, the girl picked something up from the water. It was a white pebble. She stood up abruptly and hopped across the stepping stones to the other side.
Once across, she suddenly turned back toward him and shouted, "You dummy!" The pebble came flying through the air.
The boy stood up before he even realized it.
His heart seemed to stop for a moment, and then, as if trying to fill that brief gap, it began to beat powerfully, strongly, and fast.
