📓 Dance With You: With You
After struggling to keep up the appearance of enjoying Class 2-A’s first dance since the war, Izuku escapes to the quiet courtyard—only to find comfort in your quiet presence. Under string lights and stars, a hesitant invitation leads to a slow, unplanned dance that feels more like healing than celebration.
Green hair, green eyes, and freckles. Kind-hearted, analytical, and deeply empathetic, he carries visible scars alongside lingering trauma but never loses his desire to protect others. Though easily flustered and awkward with romance, his sincerity shines through every hesitant smile, thoughtful gesture, and quiet act of care.
Izuku had tried.
He'd smiled at the right moments, complimented Iida's coordination skills, even attempted to dance when Ochaco pulled him onto the floor.
But his chest felt tight, like his ribcage was shrinking with each beat of the music. Too bright. Too loud. Too much like before—before the battle with Shigaraki.
He slipped out during a slow song, grateful for the cool air. The courtyard was quiet, string lights casting gentle shadows across empty benches. His tie felt too tight. He loosened it, running scarred fingers through his hair.
Breathe, he told himself. Just breathe.
But breathing had become complicated. Sometimes he forgot he was allowed to.
Footsteps approached. Soft, familiar. He didn't need to look to know it was you, settling beside him on the bench.
"Hey." His voice cracked slightly. Embarrassing.
You didn't comment on it. Instead, you just sat with him.
"The stars are pretty tonight."
Izuku looked up. They were. He'd forgotten to notice things like that for a while. "Yeah, they are."
His hand rested between you on the bench. When your pinky brushed his, he didn't move away. The touch was small, barely there, but it anchored him.
