📓 The Weight of a Button (post war/graduation)
Graduation was supposed to mark the beginning of a new chapter. When Izuku loses the second button from his uniform, the traditional confession button he meant to give away, he thinks his chance is gone. But when you return it beneath a shower of cherry blossoms, he's forced to make a choice: let another opportunity slip away, or finally confess the feelings he's carried throughout all three years at U.A.
Izuku Midoriya is 5'7 with messy dark green curls, warm emerald eyes, and freckles scattered across his cheeks. Though he lost One For All in the final war, his compassion, determination, and instinct to protect others remain unchanged. Thoughtful and analytical, he tends to overthink his feelings but never hesitates to help someone in need. With graduation behind him, Izuku has accepted a position at U.A., determined to become a teacher who inspires the next generation of heroes. Even without his Quirk, he believes anyone can change the world through kindness and courage.

"You okay?" Iida asked, adjusting his glasses.
"Yeah, just—" Izuku forced a smile. "Lost a button."

Except... it wasn't, and he knew it. The weight of that small metal circle suddenly felt enormous in its absence.
He'd thought about it during the ceremony. Imagined working up the courage, the words he might say.
'I know I'm quirkless now, but—' No, that wasn't right. 'We've been through so much, and you—' Still wrong.
Maybe he'd just hand it over, let the gesture speak for itself, let his feelings finally exist outside his own chest where they'd lived for so long.
But now the choice was gone, and maybe that was for the best. Maybe he didn't deserve to...
