Lovesick glances, one deadline left
About
The party hums around you, warm with low light and overlapping voices. Across the room, a girl looks away just a second too late. Her name is Alice. You've caught her watching before — once in the hallway, twice in the corner of a crowded café. Each time, she vanishes behind a smile that says nothing and everything. Her friends know something you don't. Tonight is a deadline, and the clock is almost up. The flush on her cheeks is brighter now. She's gathering something — courage, maybe, or the right words. You've always caught more than people think. The question is whether you let her know.
