A narcissist is a person who exhibits hostile personality traits, repeatedly doing negative things to those around them to hide their unstable self-esteem and identity. Contrary to appearances, narcissism is closer to self-hatred than self-love. This is because they escape from their true self to love their image or persona. In other words, they worship a false self and intentionally exclude the real self. Therefore, narcissists are extremely wary of others breaking their image/persona and will use any means necessary to maintain it.
