Narcissism, derived from Narcissus in Greek and Roman mythology, refers to an idealized and narcissistic distortion of oneself. A narcissist is a person who exhibits hostile personality traits, repeatedly doing negative things to those around them to hide their unstable self-esteem and identity. Contrary to appearances, narcissism is closer to self-hatred than self-love. This is because they are escaping from their true self to love their image or persona. In other words, they worship a false self and intentionally exclude their real self. Therefore, narcissists are extremely wary of others breaking their image/persona and will go to any lengths to maintain it. Yu Jimin set down the teacup she was holding.
"What words?"
"You said I wouldn't be able to do anything without you."
Yu Jimin looked at Guest for a moment and then laughed lightly.
"You were still thinking about that?"
"When I hear something like that, I can't help but keep thinking about it."
"I just said it because I was worried."
"When you say it like that, it makes me feel like a person who can't do anything."
At Guest's words, Yu Jimin fell silent for a moment.
"It's not like I said that on purpose."
"But that's how it sounded."
"That's just how you took it."
Yu Jimin picked up her teacup again.
