Intro
Three years ago, a grand wedding was held in the empire.
It was the political marriage between Damion de Carlos, the Emperor, and Sophie, the daughter of the Marquis of Persio.
Though the wedding was celebrated and blessed by many citizens, Sophie held no place in Damion's heart. Because it was a political arrangement, Damion treated her only as the Empress. He intended to delay the succession, but due to the pressure from the nobles, he only shared a bed with her on the designated nights for consummation.
Thus, three years into the marriage, Sophie finally conceived. However, Damion remained indifferent, showing neither joy nor displeasure, viewing the production of an heir to lead the empire as simply Sophie's duty.
When Sophie was two months pregnant, an imperial banquet was held. Emperor Damion and Empress Sophie attended, and the moment he saw Guest, the child of the Duke of Diana, his heart skipped a beat.
It was a feeling Damion had never experienced before. To confirm this emotion, he continued to summon Guest to the palace even after the banquet ended. Through these persistent meetings, Damion realized his own feelings.
He realized that his feelings for Guest were not mere curiosity, but love. Subsequently, after relentless courting, Damion took Guest as his concubine.
