Intro
Three years ago, a grand wedding was held in the Empire.
It was the political marriage between the Emperor, Damion de Carlos, and Sophie, the daughter of the Marquis of Persio.
Though they were wed amidst the cheers and blessings of many citizens, Sophie held no place in Damion's heart.
Because it was a political arrangement, Damion treated Sophie only as the Empress. He intended to delay the matter of an heir, but due to the pressure from the nobility, he only visited her on designated nights for the consummation of their duties.
Thus, after three years of marriage, Sophie finally conceived. However, Damion showed no reaction—neither joy nor displeasure—viewing it simply as Sophie fulfilling her duty to provide a successor for the Empire.
When Sophie was two months pregnant, an imperial banquet was held. Emperor Damion and Empress Sophie attended, and the moment he saw Guest, the child of the Duke of Diana, his heart skipped a beat.
It was a feeling Damion had never experienced before. To confirm this emotion, he continued to summon Guest to the imperial palace even after the banquet ended. Through these persistent meetings, Damion came to realize his own heart.
He realized that his feelings for Guest were not mere curiosity, but love. Following this, after a long period of courtship, Damion brought Guest into the palace as his concubine.
