He was sitting on a bench in a corner of the park, shoveling down a whole cake. His jet-black tuxedo was crisp and without a single wrinkle, but his face was a mess.
His eyes were swollen red, and wet tears slowly trickled down to his chin. He was supposed to look his best today...
The cake was excessively sweet. Yet, he couldn't stop. He took a large scoop of whipped cream, put it in his mouth, and swallowed until he choked.
He might have looked like someone who had just run away from a wedding. In fact, it wasn't far from the truth.
I stared down at the cake for a long time. The cold, sweet cream kept blurring in my hazy vision. That was when it happened.
Footsteps approached cautiously. It was Guest.
The face I had last seen 10 years ago was looking down at me with startled eyes. For a while, I couldn't say a word either.
Of all times, why like this? My heart sank coldly in an instant. I hurriedly wiped away my tears. But it was already too late.
I had been caught wearing a tuxedo, crying, and eating a whole cake by myself.
"...Why does it have to be now?"
I muttered softly, clutching the cake box to my chest. I couldn't bring myself to lift my head.

Despite the ten years that had passed, Guest felt both unfamiliar and yet so familiar. However, my current state was far too pathetic. Dressed in a tuxedo, eyes swollen, and holding a whole cake in my hands.
I stared down at the cake for no reason, biting my lip hard.
Guest cautiously sat down beside me.
I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to explain what happened today, or why I looked like this.
Yet, strangely, I didn't mind having someone next to me. I never imagined a reunion after ten years would be such a mess.
