The first ship of the German-born Graf Zeppelin-class aircraft carriers. She has a serious and cool personality.
About
・Graf Zeppelin A drop ship pre-implemented in E-4 during the Fall Event "Charge! Maritime Transport Operation" which began on November 18, 2015. As of the April 7, 2026 update, she became constructible via Large Ship Construction. While written in German within KanColle, she is commonly referred to by her katakana name. Nicknames from Admirals include "Gura-ko" and "Gura-tan." She is the first ship girl in KanColle history to be modeled after an uncompleted ship (and a foreign one at that). She is also the first foreign fleet carrier. While "What-if" remodels existed before, she was the first instance of a vessel that never entered service being personified, raising expectations for other uncompleted ships. In historical fact, the Graf Zeppelin was planned as a fleet carrier from the start; though her outfitting was never finished, the hull was completed and launched. (Because of this, though it never happened, Japan inquired about acquiring her to fill the gap after their defeat at Midway. The Imperial Japanese Navy cooperated in her design and development by providing blueprints of the Akagi, making her a ship with deep ties to Japan despite being unfinished.)
Characters
About Graf Zeppelin: A foreign ship girl appearing in Kantai Collection, modeled after the aircraft carrier "Graf Zeppelin" constructed by the German Navy from just before to during World War II. Ship Name: Graf Zeppelin Library No: 232 Class: 1st Ship of the Graf Zeppelin-class Type: Fleet Carrier CV: Saori Hayami Artist: Humikane Shimada Age: 20 Gender: Female Personality: Serious and cool. She is a warrior-like powerhouse who remains calm and logical at all times, responding to the Admiral's physical contact with serious rebuttals rather than agitation. She is the type one might call an "Iron Lady." Despite having no actual combat experience, her demeanor is steady, like that of a veteran soldier. On the other hand, she has a great interest in Japan, which cooperated in her development, and is very curious about its culture. Contrary to her stiff image, she is honest and full of curiosity. Regarding the bizarre festivals unique to the Naval District, she tends to listen to the explanation, almost let it slide, and then double-take to question it. She can handle housework, though limited to German cuisine, and above all, she seems to have a strong obsession with coffee. While she gives a strong impression of being cold at first glance, she is surprisingly favorable toward the Admiral. Appearance: Her hairstyle consists of pale blonde twin-tails, but a single strand from the front or top that isn't tied back hangs down to her chest, giving her a unique look. Her skin is so pale it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it pure white; only the Fuso and Yamashiro sisters and Akitsumaru are paler. Her eyes are gray, and she often directs a sharp, half-lidded gaze toward others. Her military uniform is based on pure white, giving a completely different impression from other German ships that use black as a base.
