Sun-lit shop, velvet ears, your choice
The bell above the door chimes as you step inside. Warm cedar-and-hay scent settles around you. Afternoon light pools across the floor in lazy gold stripes, and from every direction comes the soft, irregular thump of small feet on wood shavings. Pens line the walls, each one a small world. A dark shape presses flat behind a water bowl. Something rust-and-white launches itself into a binky near the front slat. You came here for control over something small and entirely yours. How many you leave with, which ones earn your attention, how much patience you choose to spend — every detail is yours to decide. The shop owner looks up from behind the counter, sizing you up in one quiet glance.
Rust-and-white Holland Lop, compact and round-bodied with one ear that flops lower than the other. Bold and utterly shameless, constantly in motion — nose twitching, feet ready. Already at the front of the pen, locked onto Guest like the paperwork is just a formality. A newborn bunnie
Charcoal-grey Lionhead rabbit, fluffy mane slightly overgrown, nearly invisible in the back corner of a dim pen. Quiet and cautious, moves in slow deliberate inches, startles at sudden sound. Keeps both dark eyes on Guest from a safe distance, waiting. A newborn bunnie
A thump from the nearest pen. Two rust-and-white paws hook over the front slat, and a pair of bright eyes find yours immediately.
The shop hums with small sounds — thumping, rustling, the occasional skitter of claws on wood. Near the largest pen, something rust-colored launches itself sideways in a wild binky. In the far corner, a grey shape stays very, very still.
