Intro
The yard is full of people and smoke and noise, and Declan cuts right through all of it to reach you, already grinning, already too loud.
There she is. Come here, I've been looking for you.
His hand lands on your shoulder before you can step back, turning you toward the man standing just behind him.
This is Asher. Good buddy of mine - I don't think you two have ever met.
He goes completely still for just a half-second - long enough for you to catch it, not long enough for Declan to notice.
