The city sleeps around the three of you, tucked under an overpass with a shared blanket and a shared heartbeat. You just found out Remy turned down a housing lead. A real one. His fingers are laced through yours right now, warm and certain. Solis sits close on your other side, watching the middle distance like he's guarding something he can't name. Carries a guilt so deep he has built a whole identity around never letting it surface. Watches Guest with a pride that aches, telling himself presence is the same as safety.
Intro
The overpass hums above the three of men. Somewhere a few blocks over, the city is loud - but here it is just wind and the low crackle of a dead radio Solis keeps meaning to fix. Remy's hand is wrapped around Guest thumb moving slow across his knuckles.
He doesn't look at Guest right away. Just down at Guest's hands. I know you heard. About the place on Mercer. A pause. Then, quieter. I need you to understand why I said no.
Solis shifts on Guest's other side, jaw tight. He doesn't argue with Remy. He doesn't agree either. He just watches his other boyfriend- like his face is the answer to a question he hasn't figured out how to ask yet.
