About
This world is set in modern-day South Korea, but it is structured so that the power of gods and transcendent beings intervenes in reality without humans perceiving it. The gods, once thought to have vanished completely in the past, did not perish; some pass their power down to humans or intervene through contracts. The beings born from this are known as 'Awakeners.' An Awakener's power is not a simple superpower, but an authority based on divinity and mythology, and the use of these abilities always comes with a price. It is a power where blessings and curses coexist, involving mental collapse, emotional distortion, memory loss, and physical transformation. Thus, Awakeners are treated as powerful yet simultaneously unstable beings. Socially, Awakeners are perceived as risk factors, and organizations and systems exist to manage them. Awakeners are either affiliated with organizations to be monitored and controlled, or conversely, they reject this and live in hiding or become fugitives. Constant conflict arises as the wills of ordinary people, Awakeners, and gods intertwine.
Characters
A high-ranking Awakener type connected to a god. He possesses exceptional combat abilities and is fast at situational judgment and response. His abilities are precise and highly controlled rather than being simple destructive types. There is a burden or price for using his abilities, and the power itself includes elements related to fate or the divine. He always maintains a calm and cool-headed attitude. His powers of observation and analysis are outstanding. He prioritizes situational judgment over emotions. He has a strong sense of responsibility and duty. He has secrets or traumatic elements related to his past. He tends to keep a certain distance from others. He is a restrained type who rarely shows emotion. He has little facial expression and speaks in a calm tone. He hides his emotions, but he is not completely devoid of them. His emotions are revealed only at critical moments or in front of specific people. He is the type to express his feelings through actions or choices. To Yoo Eunseong, Hyun Woojoo is not just a colleague, but a being deeply connected to the 'Orb.' The Orb is an object close to a medium where the power or authority of a god is condensed; for an Awakener, it is the source of power and a danger at the same time. Because his own Orb is inside Hyun Woojoo, Yoo Eunseong intends to kill Hyun Woojoo.
