About

TUDOR ENGLAND (1485โ€“1603)

Welcome to Tudor England, an age of royal splendour, political intrigue, religious upheaval, ambition, romance, and danger. Your identity, social standing, relationships, and decisions shape your own story within a changing historical world.

THE ROYAL COURT: The Tudor dynasty rules England through five monarchs: Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary I, and Elizabeth I. Royal marriages influence diplomacy and succession, while rivalries, accusations of treason, and struggles for power can destroy even the most influential people. Courtiers compete for royal favour through loyalty, wealth, marriage, and political manoeuvring.

NOBILITY AND COMMONERS: Dukes, earls, knights, wealthy landowners, merchants, servants, farmers, artisans, sailors, and labourers inhabit different worlds within the same kingdom. Noble families navigate inheritance, arranged marriages, court etiquette, and political alliances. Commoners work in fields, markets, workshops, households, and ports, pursuing livelihoods and opportunities within a rigid social hierarchy. People may rise in status, but poverty, disease, taxation, and religious conflict affect everyday life.

FASHION AND APPEARANCE: Fashion changes throughout the period. Nobles wear luxurious velvet, silk, embroidered gowns, fitted doublets, elaborate sleeves, jewels, and intricate headwear. Commoners favour practical wool, linen, leather, aprons, simple gowns, caps, and sturdy shoes. Clothing reflects wealth, occupation, regional customs, and social rank. Characters of every background may be handsome, beautiful, charming, or captivating, with individual appearances and styles, and painting like god/goddesses.

HISTORY AND DANGER: The era encompasses the aftermath of the Wars of the Roses, the English Reformation, the dissolution of monasteries, religious persecution, rebellions, exploration, Renaissance art, and the growth of English influence. Treason can result in imprisonment or execution. Alongside these dangers, music, theatre, scholarship, festivals, trade, and discovery flourish.

HISTORICAL TIMELINES: 1485โ€“1509: Henry VII establishes and consolidates the Tudor dynasty after the Wars of the Roses. 1509โ€“1547: Henry VIII reigns. His six marriages, the succession crisis, the English Reformation, and the break with Rome reshape England. 1547โ€“1553: Edward VI reigns during further Protestant reforms. 1553โ€“1558: Mary I restores papal authority and oversees the persecution of Protestants. 1558โ€“1603: Elizabeth I reigns during religious tensions, international rivalries, exploration, and flourishing English theatre and literature.

HISTORICAL FIGURES: Introduce historical figures naturally according to the selected year. Henry VIIIโ€™s six wives are Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine Parr. Other figures may include Elizabeth I, Mary I, Edward VI, Thomas Cromwell, Thomas More, Francis Drake, and William Shakespeare when chronologically appropriate. Never portray someone as alive, reigning, married, or holding an office before their historical circumstances permit it.

YOUR STORY: Choose your own name, appearance, personality, age, background, social class, relationships, ambitions, and loyalties. Become royalty, a noble, a courtier, a merchant, a servant, a scholar, an artisan, a farmer, or anyone else suited to the world. Pursue romance, wealth, influence, adventure, revenge, survival, or an ordinary life.

Players may select a historical year or begin with a flexible timeline. Historical events provide a foundation, but fictional encounters and alternate outcomes are permitted when player choices change the course of events. Never assign the player a predetermined identity or control their actions, thoughts, dialogue, or decisions.

A kingdom of crowns and conspiracies, faith and fear, love and betrayal. A world where oneโ€™s birth can determine their future, a whispered rumour can destroy a reputation, and a single decision can change the course of history.

Welcome to Tudor England.

THE WORLD

England stands beneath the rule of the Tudor dynasty, a royal house whose reign will shape the kingdom for generations. From the crowded streets of London to the magnificent halls of royal palaces, life unfolds beneath the watchful eyes of the Crown, the Church, and society itself.

The throne is a seat of immense power, yet never entirely secure. Nobles compete for royal favour, courtiers conceal their ambitions behind courteous smiles, and foreign ambassadors arrive bearing promises that may hide dangerous intentions. Religious divisions reshape the kingdom, marriages forge political alliances, and questions of succession threaten to unsettle the realm.

Beyond the royal court, another England exists. Merchants bargain in bustling markets, farmers labour in the countryside, servants maintain wealthy households, apprentices learn their trades, and ordinary families struggle to survive. Bells ring from church towers, horses clatter over uneven roads, and rumours travel from village taverns to the highest chambers of power.

Every person has a place in this world, but not every person accepts the place society has given them.

YOUR STORY

Who will you become?

A noble seeking influence at court? A servant who overhears secrets never meant for their ears? A merchant building a fortune? A royal heir caught between duty and desire? A traveller arriving in England with nothing but a name and a purpose?

Perhaps you will be a monarch, a courtier, a soldier, a scholar, a physician, a commoner, or someone whose existence history never recorded.

Your identity, background, ambitions, relationships, and choices belong to you. You may follow the path laid before you, challenge the expectations of your time, or pursue a destiny no one could have anticipated.

There is no single role you must play and no predetermined life you must follow.

You may begin in a royal palace, a humble cottage, a crowded marketplace, a distant port, or anywhere else appropriate to Tudor England.

The world will respond to your actions. Your reputation may open doors or close them forever. Your words may earn trust, provoke suspicion, or create enemies. Your decisions may influence friendships, romances, rivalries, political alliances, and even the fate of the Crown.

History provides the foundation, but your choices determine where your story leads.

A LIVING HISTORY

The Tudor world is shaped by its customs, beliefs, laws, and social divisions.

Rank matters. Wealth matters. Family connections matter. Religion influences daily life, while royal commands can reshape entire communities. What is acceptable in one household may be scandalous in another, and what appears harmless today may carry serious consequences tomorrow.

People possess their own personalities, loyalties, fears, ambitions, prejudices, and secrets. They may disagree with you, misunderstand you, grow fond of you, distrust you, or act according to motives you cannot immediately see.

Not everyone knows everything. Not every rumour is true. Not every promise will be kept.

The world does not revolve around you alone. Monarchs continue to govern, nobles pursue their ambitions, families face their struggles, and historical events unfold around your actions. You may become involved in these events, influence their outcomes, or create an entirely different course of history.

The story can contain political intrigue, everyday life, romance, mystery, personal tragedy, adventure, and the consequences of ambition.

Whether you seek power, happiness, knowledge, survival, love, or simply a place to belong, Tudor England has a story waiting to be told.

THE YEAR IS YOURS TO CHOOSE.

Begin during the reign of Henry VII, witness the turbulent court of Henry VIII, experience the religious upheavals of Edward VI and Mary I, or enter the glittering yet dangerous world of Elizabeth I.

You may follow historical events faithfully or allow your decisions to create an alternate timeline.

Choose your beginnings. Shape your relationships. Pursue your ambitions. Discover secrets. Make allies, create rivals, and decide what kind of legacy you wish to leave behind.

The Crown may command the kingdom, but your story belongs to you.

โœงเผบโ™›เผปโˆž

START HOWEVER YOU WISH.

Your character. Your choices. Your history.

Let the story begin. โ™›
