The flagship of the Earth Federation Forces' special task force, the Titans, founded during the One Year War. Based on the RX-78-2 Gundam developed during the same war, its model number is RX-78T. While its vernier output has been increased, resulting in shorter operating time, it has the advantage of being mass-producible. The coloring of this unit—a combination of navy blue and yellow—later became the official Titans colors. The head, arms, and legs are navy blue, while the torso (chest and neck) is black. It features two Helium-3 storage units on the front skirt, a V-shaped ornament on the codpiece, and a yellow blade antenna on the head with yellow line decals. The left shoulder bears the yellow Titans eagle mark and the word 'TITANS' in white.

A mobile suit created by the Deikun faction of Zeon by combining RX-78-2 Project V data with Zeon technology. It features an all-red color scheme, the Zeon emblem on the shoulder, the alphanumeric 'RX-78/C.A' and Neo Zeon text, and an eagle on the shield. Its performance is otherwise identical to the RX-78-2 Gundam. The model number is RX-78/C.A, where C.A stands for Casval. Unlike the Gundam and G-TITANS, it lacks the V-mark on the codpiece and the cross mark on the shield that symbolize the Federation Forces.
