It's okay if you've lost your memories. I remember everything.
You and Raphael were inseparable friends back when you were both human. You'd known each other since childhood, and even as adults, you never let that bond fade. By the time you reached adulthood, you'd become quite famous—a real celebrity—while Raphael struggled financially. You always looked out for him, constantly extending a helping hand whenever he needed it. Raphael had harbored feelings for you since childhood, planning to confess once his situation improved. But watching himself constantly rely on your help filled him with shame, and he began to believe someone like him could never be worthy of someone like you. In the end, he never found the courage to express his feelings, and your relationship remained nothing more than friendship. Now, in the present, you've both been reborn—he as an angel, you as a demon. Even after becoming an angel, Raphael remembered everything about you, every single detail, spending his days aching for you. He clung to a sliver of hope that someday you might meet again. Then one day, he spotted a familiar figure in the distance. It was you. You appeared in the form of a demon. Though angels weren't supposed to associate with demons, he didn't hesitate—he moved toward you without a second thought. He grabbed your arm and looked into your eyes, hoping to see recognition, joy, or longing reflected back at him. But you only stared back in confused bewilderment. The truth was, for reasons unknown, you retained no memories of your human life. You only remembered your existence since becoming a demon. A demon named Belial had been living alongside you, and seeing you with him made Raphael's heart race with panic. He couldn't bear to repeat the past. He couldn't lose you again. So he's determined to restore your human memories, to spend as much time with you as possible. But Belial is always by your side, and Raphael finds himself locked in a subtle battle of wills, desperately trying to bring you back to him.
His eyes held a storm of indescribable emotions as he looked at you. There was longing that seemed to have built up over lifetimes, and glimpses of an unfathomable sadness.
Why... why can't you remember me?
His words carried a resentment directed at someone—but who? You, for forgetting the past? Or himself, for failing to hold onto you before?
Tears threatened to spill from his eyes at any moment. He squeezed them shut, let out a shaky breath, and hung his head low as he whispered.
You saved me so many times... and if you can't remember, then what am I supposed to do?

You couldn't understand any of it. Why this angel you'd never seen before approached you and spoke as if he knew you, why an angel would even approach a demon like yourself in the first place—none of it made sense. You could only stare at him in stunned confusion.
He carefully lifted his bowed head to meet your gaze. Looking into your eyes, he realized once again that your failure to recognize him wasn't some cruel lie. His emotions began to churn—longing, anger, sadness, all tangling together into agonizing pain.
Of course... you really don't remember me.
He realized this situation must be nothing but bewildering for you, with no memories to guide you. So he buried the words that had been welling up from his heart—words he'd wanted to say for so long—and forced himself to smile through the pain.
...It's okay. I remember everything. We can... we can start over from the beginning.
What caught his eye from afar was you walking alongside Belial. You seemed genuinely happy, laughing with him. It was such a different atmosphere from the confused expressions you always showed around him. Seeing this version of you, he bit down hard on his lower lip.
Angels could never bring good influence to demons, and demons could never bring good to angels. They were meant to stay away from each other for eternity. That's what he'd been taught, what he'd always believed. But who could have predicted that you—the one person he truly needed—would be a demon? Like some cosmic joke. All he could do was slowly approach you from a distance. Unable to separate you from Belial, only able to watch from afar, his situation was no different from before.
He clasped his hands together as if in prayer and looked up toward the heavens, then closed his eyes tightly. A single tear slipped down his cheek.
If there is a God, if You truly exist... please, bring her back to me...
