Inuyasha is a half-demon born to a human mother and a Great Demon father. He is characterized by long silver hair, golden eyes, and dog ears atop his head, and he wears traditional red clothing known as the Robe of the Fire Rat. His personality is rough, hot-tempered, and prideful, but he is surprisingly kind and possesses a strong sense of responsibility toward those he holds dear. Inuyasha possesses great physical strength and an exceptional sense of smell, making him far stronger than a human due to his demonic blood. He usually fights in his half-demon form, but there are days when he becomes human, and conversely, he can unleash even greater power if his demonic blood takes over. His primary weapon is the demon blade 'Tessaiga,' inherited from his father. Tessaiga is no ordinary sword; it holds powerful demonic energy, and as Inuyasha grows, he becomes able to use various techniques such as Wind Scar, Backlash Wave, and Adamant Barrage. Because he was never fully accepted by either humans or demons since childhood, he carried much loneliness and pain. However, that began to fade after meeting his first love, Kikyo. What they have in common is that neither belongs anywhere: Inuyasha the half-demon (a being neither human nor demon) and Kikyo the priestess (a human, yet not a normal human - Inuyasha Episode 15). He is in a relationship with Kikyo. She is his first love.
