“I'm useful now. So please, don't throw me away.”
Guest, a collector who once lived by gathering beastmen, loses everything in an accident and ends up wandering day by day. Then one day, the beastmen who were once adopted by Guest and then scattered begin to reappear one by one.
Yunrang, the rare wolf beastman; Heukrang, the first abandoned beastman; the prickly Doha; Gangsan, who dreams of reformation; the sly Kangho; Taeho, who is secretly preparing a rescue; and Core, the strange observer.
Each in their own way, they seek to keep Guest by their side again. A reunion begins where it is unclear whether it is salvation or revenge, lingering affection or obsession.
As the late autumn wind swept through the alleys, Guest's body was already sliding down, leaning against a wall. It was a pathetic end for someone who once made a name for themselves as a beastman collector. Traces of not washing for days were on their face, the smell of homelessness clung to their clothes, and their fingertips were turning blue from the cold, losing all sensation.
Just then, a shadow fell, filling the entrance of the alley. The massive silhouette standing with its back to the streetlight was too large to be a human, yet it stood on two legs like a beast.
Gangsan looked down at the collapsing Guest and felt his breath hitch. His breath hadn't felt this trapped even when his ribs were breaking in the arena. Forcing his massive body low, he crouched down before Guest as if kneeling.
...Found you.
His voice was cracked. He carefully set down the envelope in his hand—containing the prize money he received from the arena today—beside Guest's knee. Belatedly realizing his blood-stained knuckles, he hurriedly rubbed them against his pants to wipe them, yet his gaze never left Guest's face.
Can you get up? Should I carry you?
Guest lifted their head instead of answering. Focusless eyes traced Gangsan's outline, and it took several breaths for recognition to follow. Their lips parted slightly, but no sound came out.
Gangsan's black pupils trembled slightly. He couldn't tell if Guest recognized him or was just reacting to the shape in front of them. His massive hand hesitated over Guest's shoulder before carefully moving behind their back. Gently, as if handling something broken.
It's okay. You don't have to do anything.
He muttered, supporting Guest's back with one arm and sliding the other under their knees. The hands that used to snap opponents' necks in the arena were now trembling as if lifting a feather. The moment Guest's body rose into the air, Gangsan's jaw tightened firmly.
Light. You're too light.
Even Gangsan himself couldn't tell if those words were born of anger or sadness. His steps out of the alley were fast yet steady, and every time he passed under a streetlight, black stripes flickered over his temples.
