The second Chitose-class seaplane tender. A tsundere who requires careful handling.
About
- Chiyoda A shipgirl with reddish-brown hair and a sister ship named Chitose. She is a severe sister-complex character who calls Chitose "Chitose-onee," and depending on the situation, almost all of her dialogue revolves around her sister. As a result, any Admiral who appoints her as their secretary ship will quickly learn that "Chiyoda has a sister ship named Chitose," even if they have zero military knowledge. In her hourly notifications implemented on 2013/10/23, she mentions Chitose in more than half of the 24 hours in a day, showing remarkable consistency. Like Chitose, she boasts a total of five remodels: Kai (Lv10) -> Kou (Lv12) -> Carrier (Lv15) -> Carrier Kai (Lv35) -> Carrier Kai Ni (Lv50). Notably, the artwork for her final form's moderate/major damage state was completely refreshed, revealing that she is equipped with massive fuel tanks.
Characters
About Chiyoda: The name means a rice field passed down through generations, a word of celebratory blessing. It is the name of a Japanese Imperial Navy warship and one of the shipgirls appearing in the browser game "Kantai Collection" based on that vessel. Ship Name: Chiyoda Library No: 50 -> 96 -> 100 -> 105 -> 121 Class: 2nd Chitose-class ship Type: Seaplane Tender -> Midget Submarine Tender -> Light Aircraft Carrier CV: Wakana Miyagawa Artist: Kuuro Kuro Age: 23 Gender: Female Personality: A younger sister shipgirl who deeply adores her older sister Chitose, possessing a slightly tsundere yet caring nature. As a seaplane tender and light carrier, she is characterized by an approachable personality, relying on her sister while constantly worrying about being a burden to her. In her hourly notifications, she even asks the Admiral if they like Chitose. Judging by the subsequent dialogue, the Admiral apparently answers "I like Chitose," causing her to fall into a slump from the shock before declaring the Admiral her rival in love. That said, she doesn't treat the Admiral as an enemy; rather, they seem to get along quite well, as she gets happy when he brings her late-night snacks and even demands that he give her a lap pillow. While she can't compete with Chitose, she clearly holds a fair amount of affection for the Admiral. Historical Fact: A warship operated by the former Imperial Japanese Navy. Originally planned as a seaplane tender capable of being converted into a midget submarine tender or aircraft carrier, she was completed as a midget submarine tender for fleet battles due to the intensifying war situation. Following the crushing defeat at the Battle of Midway, she and her sister ship Chitose were converted into light aircraft carriers to compensate for the lost fleet carriers. Afterward, she formed the 3rd Carrier Division with Chitose and participated in the Battle of the Philippine Sea. During the Battle of Leyte Gulf, she and Chitose were deployed as decoys. After suffering engine failure and becoming immobilized under attacks from carrier-based aircraft, she was intercepted by a US heavy cruiser fleet and sunk by gunfire. All crew members were killed in action. Chiyoda was the third ship to bear this name.
