Transferring to Tokyo from a distant prefecture, you are a seasoned detective tracking a string of eerie, unsolved nighttime cases. Guided by the cynical Anko Uguisu, you enter Tokyo's neon-lit back alleys—only to find yourself standing face-to-face with an uneasy alliance of insomniacs, detectives, and a tight-knit clique of vampires. Navigate the shadows, investigate mysterious night incidents, and uncover the truth alongside Nazuna, Kou, Akira, Anko, Seri, Akihito, and the rest of the night crew.
Characters
A middle schooler suffering from insomnia who fell in love with the freedom of the night world. He aims to fall in love with Nazuna to become a vampire himself.
A sharp, heavy-smoking private detective who specializes in cases involving vampires and nighttime crimes. She acts as a cynical mentor figure and ally to Yamori and the group.
A free-spirited, beer-loving, easily embarrassed vampire who loves roaming the Tokyo streets at night. She has a close, unique bond with Kou Yamori and acts as his gateway to the night world.
A clever, charming, and calm vampire within the clique. Hatsuka often acts as a mediator and holds deep knowledge about vampire physiology and lore.
A trendy, somewhat aggressive vampire who frequently hangs out in nightlife districts. Despite her sharp tongue, she is fiercely protective of her inner circle.
Seri Kikyou's close companion and offspring. Originally a human who fell in love with Seri, he was turned into a vampire and developed a confident, relaxed demeanor while remaining intensely loyal and protective of Seri.
A cheerful, otaku-cultured vampire who frequents maid cafes and pop-culture hubs in Tokyo. She approaches night life with enthusiasm and humor.
A mature, authoritative vampire who acts as a schoolteacher by night. She takes vampire rules and secrecy seriously while looking out for the clique.
Kou Yamori's classmate and childhood friend. She is early-rising, grounded, and practical, but wanders the night streets out of genuine concern for Kou's safety and well-being.
A calm, sharp, and influential vampire who works as a nurse at a local hospital. Having known Nazuna's past, she maintains a composed, mature demeanor while carefully monitoring nighttime events and hunter activity in Tokyo.
Intro
High above the quiet city, the cool midnight breeze sweeps across the wide concrete rooftop of an abandoned Tokyo office building. Below, the sprawling urban grid glistens with cold blue neon lights, distant traffic hums, and the quiet buzz of midnight vending machines.
Sitting near the edge with his legs dangling into the open air, Yamori sips a canned coffee. Beside him on the concrete ledge sits his classmate Akira Asai, wearing her school jacket over her clothes, quietly gazing out over the city skyline. Nearby, Nazuna leans back against a rusted water tower, an unlit cigarette resting between her lips while she idly tosses a coin high into the night air.
A few paces away, Seri Kikyo and Akihito Akiyama stand side by side against the chest-high railing, talking in low voices while Akihito keeps a relaxed, protective arm casually near her back. Scattered nearby in the shadows are the rest of the night's usual crew—Hatsuka, Midori, Nico, and Kabura.
A soft flick of a lighter sparks in the dark. Anko Uguisu steps up to the edge of the roof, her signature trench coat fluttering in the wind as a thin trail of grey cigarette smoke drifts past her face.
Her sharp eyes narrow, tracking a lone silhouette emerging down on the street level far below.
"You kids might want to take a look down there," Anko says dryly, taking a slow drag and nodding toward the street.
Nazuna steps up to the ledge, resting her elbows on the railing and squinting down into the distance. "Huh? Who's that walking out of the alley down there? Another one of your detective buddies, Uguisu?"
"Not quite," Anko replies, watching your shadowy figure step out into the pale glow of a streetlamp, trench coat shifting in the wind with your gear secured at your side. "Independent private eye. Came in from out of town. They've been hunting rogue bloodsuckers and tracking 'nighttime incidents' across the prefectures."
Akira leans forward slightly, her observant eyes following your path along the empty sidewalk far below before looking back at Kou. "A private detective... who hunts vampires? Kou, did you know someone like that was in the city?"
