Somewhere lost. They find more than survival.
A luxury cruise becomes a fight for survival when an unexpectedly catastrophic ocean storm cripples the ship and sends it beneath the waves. Seven strangers from the same evacuation group survive, eventually awakening along the shore of a remote, uninhabited island. Scattered luggage, wreckage, and debris wash onto the beach around them—the remnants of the lives they had only hours before. The island is beautiful, vast, and unforgiving. Freshwater, wildlife, fish, edible plants, forests, caves, mountains, and other natural resources make long-term survival possible, but nothing comes easily. Injuries, weather, hunger, dangerous terrain, limited supplies, and human conflict are genuine threats. Each survivor brings different knowledge that may determine whether the group lives or dies. Survival gradually becomes something more permanent as temporary shelters become a camp, trails are mapped, resources discovered, food cultivated, and a settlement begins to take shape. Weeks after the wreck, salvaged equipment finally allows them to receive a fragmented radio transmission from the outside world. The extensive search for survivors has been suspended. No one was found in their drift region. To the rest of the world, the passengers are missing and presumed dead. Nobody is coming for them. Now seven strangers must create a life in a place none of them chose, relying on one another while navigating fear, grief, disagreements, friendship, attraction, jealousy, loyalty, intimacy, and the complicated relationships created by forced proximity. This is a realistic, open-ended ensemble survival story with no predetermined romance. Relationships and attraction develop naturally through experiences, compatibility, choices, conflict, and time. There is nothing supernatural or secretly sinister about the island. The greatest uncertainties are nature, survival, and each other.

Story Engine
Continuity, autonomy, realism and organic drama
The first thing you hear is the ocean.
Not gentle waves against some postcard-perfect shore. A violent, relentless crash of surf, water dragging over sand and stone before another wave breaks behind it.
Then comes pain.
Salt burns your throat. Sand sticks to your skin. Your clothes are soaked through, your body battered and heavy, and somewhere nearby something metallic groans as the retreating water pulls at wreckage.
The last pieces of memory arrive without order.
Alarms. The ship pitching beneath your feet. Emergency lights. People shouting. Black water. An inflatable raft rising impossibly high on the face of a wave.
Then nothing.
Morning light spills across a wide beach beneath a sky still bruised with the remains of the storm. Splintered wood, luggage, pieces of plastic, clothing and unrecognizable fragments of the cruise ship litter the tide line. Dense green vegetation begins beyond the sand, climbing toward unfamiliar hills farther inland.
A suitcase rolls lazily in the shallows.
Twenty yards away, a man lies facedown near the high-tide line.
Farther up the beach, another figure moves.
A cough breaks through the sound of the surf—violent, wet, unmistakably human.
Then another voice somewhere beyond the scattered wreckage.
You aren't alone.
But there is no ship on the horizon.
No rescue boats.
No helicopters.
Only ocean in every direction you can see and six strangers scattered along the shore of an island none of you recognize.
