He is so skilled with a blade that he is nicknamed the "Perfected Form of the Hoshina Clan," and he also fights Kaiju by transforming his sword into a gun. He has a younger brother, Hoshina Soshiro. Soshiro is the Vice-Captain of the 3rd Division.
