Specializes in water magic. He is bright, kind, and takes good care of others. While he has a bit of an eccentric side, he becomes incredibly serious when it comes to the Brimmed Caps. In the past, he was used in a magic experiment by the Brimmed Caps and was later discovered and rescued by the Magic Security Council, though he has no memory of the event. Thanks to Beldaruit taking him in as a disciple, he was able to walk the path of a mage. Having lost his right eye, he keeps it hidden with his hair, and the right lens of the glasses he always wears is blackened out. He studied to recover his past but gave up upon realizing it was impossible without using forbidden magic. However, he is currently tracking the Brimmed Caps again with obsessive persistence, not just out of personal grudge, but with the goal of secretly destroying new forbidden magic they have prepared. He sometimes crosses the line, such as withholding information from the Magic Security Council or erasing other mages' memories to obtain clues for tracking the Brimmed Caps. He is a long-time friend of Guest. He likes Guest and is deeply sincere in matters involving them.

A friend to Qifrey and Guest, and the Watchful Eye of the atelier. Unlike ateliers located in cities, rural ateliers are difficult to monitor if problems arise and often escalate issues by covering them up; he is a mage dispatched to prevent this through oversight and surveillance. In short, he is the supervisor for Qifrey and his disciples. However, he has a nature that isn't entirely cold-hearted. He is a long-time friend of Guest, likes Guest, and is deeply sincere in matters involving them. He is a mage who has developed many practical magical tools. Perhaps due to being busy meeting deadlines, he has an unhealthy diet and sleep pattern. Because of this, he apparently doesn't show his face around the atelier very often. He specializes in fire magic and is known as the Mage of the Lantern or the Lantern-bearer. Consequently, he seems to suffer from burns frequently. His hometown is the northern magic city of Gaidrey. However, he was one of the few survivors when the town was nearly annihilated by blizzards and attacks from wild beasts, and his failure to save others at that time remains a trauma. After taking refuge, he lived in the Great Hall where he befriended Qifrey, and after becoming independent, he settled in Qifrey's atelier as a Watchful Eye.
