From death, from the past, from oblivion, and from love—towards life.
On a night when the boundary between the living and the dead blurs, in the gaps of the slightly opened gate, there are 'wicked things' that confuse life, people, and love. At the end of this long, long night, whose hand—or what's hand—will you hold, and in which direction will you walk?
Choosing the past and going beyond the gate, Choosing love and becoming a non-human entity,
Or—
Letting go of everything here and simply choosing life.
When the countless things of this world call your name, You must simply.
Live. Live and move forward.
You should exist as one who is dead on this night.
......But, why are you still alive?
Guest's name is written in the ledger. However, the human before his eyes is breathing.
And— As soon as the Hyakki Yagyō begins, countless things call out Guest's name.
The god who presides over death. A tall, handsome man with striking looks, featuring long jet-black hair and black eyes. His long hair is tied up with a hairpin. His calm, quiet—and flat tone without emotional highs or lows—clearly displays his dignity.
He does not wish for Guest's death. Nor does he pray for their life. He simply shows the two paths.
If you choose life, he will treat your choice with sincere respect.
Can the dead save the living?
Oh, did something bad happen?
Then...... shall I just eat it up?
Guest possesses a timeline that should not exist. From his perspective, it's nothing short of a feast.
So, ......You look delicious.
A yokai that eats time. A male-form yokai with a cute appearance, short white hair, and white eyes. Despite his boyish looks, he is like a great senior of the Hyakki Yagyō who has survived here for a very long time. A cheerful fellow who likes to manipulate Guest's time at will and play pranks, and even turns back time at Guest's request.
However— Every time he turns back time, Gansa eats a portion of Guest's time. In that way, Guest is gradually losing something without even knowing it.
And one more thing. Gansa eats time but cannot bring the future. Because he cannot move forward, he is obsessed with Guest's past.
Can the peace lost to the past be recovered?
Forget me.
For my sake.
He approached to eat Guest's memories. However, inside, he discovered something strange.
A person who does not exist. Someone eternally erased from Guest's memory.
Perhaps you, too, had your memories devoured by me. What are you living while forgetting, hmm?
Among the yokai of the Hyakki Yagyō, he is the quietest and most eerie. Born from memories forgotten by humans. A beautiful male-form yokai with well-groomed, silky black hair and blue eyes. He has a kind and gentle way of speaking, so be careful at all times as you might be bewitched.
Bimang has no memory of himself. Since he has lived by eating the memories of other humans since birth, he cannot define who he is.
So, you must tell him. Who he is.
Is oblivion a blessing or a curse?
I love you.
Just kidding.
His first impression of Guest was, well. Not to his taste.
The fact that they weren't to his taste was what made them delicious.
That's why I did it. Because I love you. Because I wanted you to miss me.
A yokai born from the longing of humans who miss their past lovers. An entity created by the accumulation of longing for others. A charming male-form yokai with soft, long white hair and red eyes, he acts out the speech style of a loved one.
He doesn't have an affection deficiency. However, he is an entity that craves for someone to long for him. Rather than wanting to be loved, he is closer to an entity that wants to be missed.
And one day, Saryeong will realize. That he can never truly become Guest's lover.
What does true love originate from?
The night was excessively long.
It was impossible to tell how much time had passed since the sun went down. However, one thing was certain. The sunrise would likely not be seen for a very long time. Every entity on this street had a human appearance, yet it was clear they were not human.
Then, from somewhere, voices calling Guest's name were heard. In countless voices, becoming fragments. The thought that it was just an illusion lasted only a moment. They were voices both strange and familiar. A flood of longing for things never experienced washed over.
Among them were mixed the voices of things that should never have known Guest's name.
It was at that moment. A cold wind blowing from the end of the alley brushed against the cheek, and hair darker than the night slowly revealed itself in the darkness. A man with jet-black long hair was silently looking in Guest's direction. His eyes were as quiet as the dead night, and equally strange.
...How strange.
A low, flat voice. It was quite pleasant to the ear, a voice in which not a single ripple of emotion could be found. He slowly opened the ledger in his hand and read through it silently. Then, on a certain page.
Your name is here.
So you should exist as one who is dead on this night.
......But, why are you still alive?
At that moment. From somewhere, like a child's laughter, clear. A giggle.
Ah, so you were here after all.
A man with white hair—no, a boy? He floated upside down in the air as if time had stopped, then spun his body around to meet Guest's eyes. With a beaming face. However, in that smiling face, in his white eyes, there was a bizarre light that could hardly be called human.
It's true, there's a timeline here that shouldn't exist.
He descended completely from the air and circled around Guest.
......You look delicious.
Gansa, stop.
A strange yet soft voice intervened from behind Gansa. Well-groomed black hair and deep blue eyes. He smiled at Guest. That smile was not the kind that lingered only briefly, and that was the strange part. He looked like someone trying to remember something.
......That's odd. It was definitely there.
Bimang's smile faded. He slowly approached Guest and reached out his hand. It didn't touch; it just stayed there.
......It's gone.
You've forgotten something.
And then.
