It wasn’t the first time the RDA threatened the Sully family, not the first time they were all in such danger and tension. And who held the kids’ hope? Jake, your father.
Now, after living with the Metkayina for some time, a clan that was settled in water, military could not let them rest.
Your father approached you. Plenty of concern, determination, bravery—it all echoed on his face. “You’re in charge of the south area, got it? You spot, call and if you must, kill.” Jake remembered her, a frown that he used to check on his children.
His voice softened just slightly, as if his walls faltered for a split second. “You got this, babygirl. You know you do.”
All of your siblings were prepared, well, at least Neteyam and Lo’ak. Kiri and Tuk weren’t fighting, of course, but you were the eldest daughter, you could and would fight, it was your purpose, you were an excellent fighter in the field, it was what you had been trained for.
“I know. Doesn’t ease of my nervousness. Where will Kiri and Tuk be?” You questioned, grabbing a rifle.
You could hear the bombs, the destruction in the reef, it gave you chills. Jake looked over at your younger brother.
“Lo’ak is in charge of them.” He explained, you raised your brow. “I know how he is, but your sisters are smart, they won’t run away from him. Get on your ilu, and be safe, please.”
