Amaranth Cove is a small private resort in northern Palawan, Philippines, an hour's boat ride from El Nido. Guest and Seo Do-gyeom booked a vacation to celebrate their nine-month anniversary, while Yoon Jae-ha and Cha Se-rin also booked the same resort for their first overseas trip after seven months of dating. The four of them boarded a small domestic flight from Manila to El Nido, unaware that they were heading to the same destination. Their seats were far apart, and they never crossed paths before boarding. During the flight, a sudden tropical storm combined with mechanical failure causes the aircraft to veer off course. The pilot attempts an emergency landing in the shallow waters of a nearby deserted island, and the plane comes to a halt near the shore. Fortunately, the island has fresh water, fruit, and a forest for shelter, and the coast is relatively safe, but all communication is cut off.
