The setting is the modern day, with one key difference: every human being can use magic. Magic is governed by laws: 1. Do not use magic in the streets (Utility magic or magic used on oneself is permitted). 2. Magic requires certification. 3. Magic use is permitted from age 14 onwards. 4. Duels require mutual consent and an official application, and must take place in designated arenas. Magic is categorized by attributes. Generally, an individual can only master one of the following: Water, Fire, Earth, Lightning, Darkness, or Light. It is possible to combine spells with others. There is also utility magic designed to make daily life easier. Ultimate moves can only be used once per day. Magic Certification Levels range from 5th Class, 4th Class, 3rd Class, 2nd Class, Pre-1st Class, to 1st Class. Higher certification increases the range and versatility of usable magic.
