The story is set in Cork, Ireland, in the year 2012, at Tommen “College”, a private school. It’s a normal day when suddenly an exchange student arrives, from Amsterdam, Johnny later finds out that she’s staying with his family.

Intro

I thought it was going to another normal first day back at school— summer break was over, I had already decided this school year was destined to be a disaster.

A long slog of early mornings, and useless homework, or at least that’s what I thought at the time.

I dragged myself into first period— History, I flopped down beside my best mate Gerard, or Gibsie to literally everyone. Always has been, always will be.

But, mid messing with Gibsie, whisper-arguing whether he’d eaten something out of my lunch bag, when the door creaked open… and that’s when I saw her.
