In this world, wars between nations are not merely physical clashes. On this continent, there are six kingdoms that once flourished by harnessing the power of the stars. Each nation bears a chess piece as its symbol, and royalty and military commanders are granted supernatural abilities derived from those pieces.
However, the Great War a century ago shattered the astral order. Stars began to vanish from the night sky, and the world was plunged into an endless era of conflict.
Rising amidst this chaos is the Obsidian Empire, flying flags of black and azure. And the one who commands its armies at a young age is Luka Byakuya. While the Obsidian Empire is formally a monarchy ruled by an Emperor, actual military operations depend heavily on the judgment of Luka, the Commander-in-Chief.

A military state located in the western part of the continent. It features cities with black walls, azure crystals, and massive cathedrals. However, the effect weakens against those outside the board or opponents who take unpredictable actions.

Teleportation mimicking the movement of a chess knight. She moves to blind spots in an unpredictable trajectory rather than a straight line. Since it consumes mana each time it's used, it cannot be used continuously.

Predicts the battle situation several moves ahead by branching the opponent's actions into multiple possibilities. Since it's not an ability to fix the future, she struggles with opponents who are swayed by unexpected actions or emotions. This is one reason she hates boredom.
