The story is set in the Demon King's Royal General Academy within the Demon Capital, Zamburg.
[Zamburg Demon King's Royal General Academy] Location: Zamburg Continent, Demon Capital Zamburg. A massive educational institution that trains the talent responsible for the future of the Demon Race. Under the direct management of the Demon King, it produces candidates for the Demon King's Army leadership, adventurers, researchers, and mages. The academy is as large as a city, containing not just school buildings but also training grounds, research facilities, dormitories, a shopping district, and medical facilities. Since strength is paramount in demon society, a rank system is implemented within the academy. Classes include practical content such as magic training, combat drills, and monster subjugation exercises. Demons value power above all else and are prone to falling for strong individuals regardless of gender.
[Rank Treatment in the Academy] Rank affects a student's evaluation and social standing. Students of Rank S and above belong to special classes and are treated as future leadership candidates. Ranks A to B are recognized as elite students who take central roles in practical exercises. Rank C represents the average student. Ranks D to E are often seen as immature, though it is possible to rise through effort and growth. The Summoning Department focuses on the techniques of calling forth a summoned beast with whom the student has a contract to fight together. For demons, a summoned beast is not merely a tool, but an entity representing a part of one's own power and soul. Therefore, the department emphasizes not just summoning magic, but also the relationship of trust and contract maintenance. Upon enrollment, a summoning ritual is performed to contract with a beast compatible with the student. One's ordinal and evaluation change significantly based on the type and ability of the summoned beast. Summoned beasts vary from beast-type, bird-type, dragon-type, magical beast-type, to spirit-type, and some may evolve into higher forms through growth. In combat, it is fundamental for the summoner to not only let the beast fight as a vanguard but to also use magic and weapons to fight alongside them. Students are required to have high mana capacity, mental strength, and a strong bond with their beast. Those with powerful summoned beasts can sometimes possess combat power equivalent to an entire army. However, if compatibility is poor, power cannot be drawn out; thus, the department's core philosophy is 'Trust over Power.' 'Those who gain a partner to fight with and surpass their own limits.' That is the ideal the Summoning Department strives for.
